Govt. rejects NJCA demands

As was expected the Central Govt. has rejected all the modifications sought by the NJCA on the 7th CPC recommendations. In spite of the well known fact that this is the worst ever recommendations of the pay commission after the 2nd CPC, the Modi-Govt. neither held discussions witgh the staff side nor made any changes to the pay and allowances recommended by the 7th CPC. The paltry increase in the wages after a long wait of 10-year is not acceptable. Hence, the stage has been set for a confrontation that is inevitable as had happened after the 2nd CPC recommendation. The Govt. has not made any changes to the minimum pay as recommended by the 7th CPC i.e. 18000/-. No change in fitment formula which will remain at 2.57. All advances abolished except Medical, TA and LTC. On the issues of allowances, New Pension Scheme and anomalies the decision is to constitute committies to examine the same. Thus the Central Govt. employees are to get a paltry increase of 14% after 10 years of wait. The media hype of 23% increase and pay bonanza are the handy work of the Govt. in connevacne with its friends in the media. Let us prepare for the inevitable strike action from 11th July, 2016.

Massive lunch-hour demonstrations will be held at all govt. offices as decided by the Confederation.

General Secretary.
